The United States won the inaugural IFAF Women's World Championship in 2010 in Stockholm, Sweden, defeating Canada in the gold medal game. Finland beat Austria for the bronze.
The IFAF Flag Football World Championship has been held since 2002 and is the showpiece bi-annual tournament for senior national teams competition in 5-on-5 flag football and has separate competitions for both the men and the women. The 2014 IFAF Flag Football World Championship will be held in Jerusalem, Israel.
The first women's tackle football championship was played in Stockholm, Sweden in the Summer of 2010. Team USA won the GOLD medal. Sweden-Finland-Germany-Austria and Canada were all represented. USA football and IFAF created the tournament which will be held again in 2013 in the USA.
